Richard "Dick" Melville Holbrook

Richard Melville “Dick” Holbrook, 86, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at his home in Weatherford. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Holbrook home. Richard was born January 17, 1937 in North Platte, Nebraska, son of Melville David and Geraldine Mae (Thorne) Holbrook. Richard proudly and bravely served his country in the United States Air Force. During this time, he would serve as a medical technician, and run a OBGYN unit in Goose Bay, Labrador. Richard met the love of his life, Debra Gudino and they were married on February 14, 1976. They would go on to spend 47 happy years together. Richard worked for over 30 years for the Los Angeles Police Department. He retired in June of 1990 as a Lieutenant II in the Scientific Investigations Division. Richard was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, and hunting. He was also musically inclined and played both the piano and guitar. He truly was a jack of all trades, but was a master of them all. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gail Leonard Holbrook. Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie Holbrook; daughters, Stephanie Holbrook, and Lisa Holbrook; sister, Lauri Holbrook-Hall; and a host of extended family members and friends.
