Richard Eugene Stevens

WEATHERFORD - Richard Eugene Stevens, 75, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 30, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer.Memorial service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, Texas  76086.Richard was born April 25, 1942 in Ranger, Texas to Jody and Jessie Stevens. He was a member of the Coast Guard from 1960 to 1964. Richard retired after 30 plus years from the Fort Worth Fire Department after receiving multiple awards. He raised 2 daughters on his own and cherished them dearly. Those that knew him loved him for his humor and wit. He always brought laughter to others. Richard was an avid Harley Davidson rider and enjoyed going on rides with his friends.The family would like to express their gratitude to his devoted friend, Ned Hannah.Richard is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clifford and Ronnie Stevens; and son-in-law, John A. White III.Survivors: Daughters, Kim Baker and Connie White; son, David Hall of San Diego, California; sister, Patsy Padilla; grandchildren, Kane and Ashley White, and Madison, Cooper, and Gage Mullins; uncle, Jimmy Stevens and wife, Sue; and numerous other family members and lifelong friends.
