Robert Eugene Bohnert was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 24, 2020. He resided at Santa Fe Health and Rehab Center, located at 1205 Santa Fe Drive, Weatherford, Texas. A viewing for Bob will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Whites Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, Texas. A Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. at East Greenwood Cemetery on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, 500 E. Front St., Weatherford, Texas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family is request donations be made to Santa Fe Drive Baptist Church in memory of Robert and Rita. Robert “Bob” was born July 28, 1937 to Everett Harrison and Mary Enda Bohnert of Anthony, Kansas. He was the third of five children and the last of them to leave us. Bob, resided in Kansas serving his community as a Public Service Officer for the city of El Dorado then going on to become a Captain of the Kansas State Corrections Facility in Norton, Kansas. After retiring, Bob and Rita moved to the Great State of Texas to be closer to their daughter, Carla. They enjoyed traveling with family and having game nights with Carla and Michael. He was a member of Santa Fe Drive Baptist Church and liked singing in the choir, taking part in the church plays and giving the pastor a hard time. Bob was preceded in death by his Wife, Rita; son, Timothy; brothers, Richard and Harold; sisters, Luella and Kathy; as well as his son-in-law, Michael. Bob is survived by his Daughters, Carla Bowers of Weatherford, Texas and Brenda Epperson, of Augusta, Kansas; son, Terry Bohnert of Pekin, Illinois; He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
