It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Allen “Bob” Fronk, Jr., who was born on February 11, 1936, and peacefully left this world on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Weatherford, Texas. He was the beloved son of Robert Fronk, Sr. and Matilda Fronk. Both parents preceded Bob in death. Bob is survived by his sister, Mary Fronk, and was preceded in death by his other siblings, Tom Fronk, and Elizabeth Fronk.
Bob’s life journey began in Mt. Angel, Oregon. Over the years, he lived in various places across the United States before settling in Weatherford, Texas. He was a loving husband to Marlene Fronk, whom he married in 1958 and was married to her for 52 years before her passing on December 16, 2010. Together, they raised a beautiful family and had five children: James Fronk, Michael Fronk, Paula Allen (spouse, Andy Allen), Kathy Ross (spouse, Steve Ross), and David Fronk (spouse, Janet Fronk). He was a cherished grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Bob dedicated his career to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, specifically, the Soil Conservation Service, where he used his civil engineering degree and two Master's Degrees to make a lasting impact. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus organization. He was known for his kind and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
In addition, Bob loved his Catholic Faith. For over 15 years, he and wife Marlene traveled around the Fort Worth metroplex, bringing the Fatima Pilgrim Statue to homes, so the family could consecrate their home to Jesus through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He loved attending daily Mass and he had a very strong devotion to the most holy rosary. In fact, when he died, he was found with a rosary in his hand.
Outside of his work, Bob enjoyed spending time in nature, indulging in hobbies such as fishing, hiking, camping, gardening and woodworking in his workshop. He found solace in the great outdoors and cherished the moments spent with his loved ones in the beauty of the world around him, with his favorite pipe in hand. Furthermore, Robert was an avid patron of Bass Hall and the Fort Worth Symphony. He loved to share this experience with his children and grandchildren over the many years. Lastly, he loved playing cards. He enjoyed a good family card game and all the shenanigans that came with it.
Bob was deeply cherished by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will carry forward the memories of his life and the lessons he shared with them. His legacy lives on through those who knew and loved him. May Bob’s memory bring comfort to all who were touched by his presence.
