Robert James Parker, 82, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home. Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, Texas 76086. Robert was born February 25, 1938 in Brock, son of Benjamin Artist Parker and Thelma Tillery Parker. He graduated from Weatherford High School. Robert moved to Mansfield to work at General Motors and retired after 40 years of service. He also served in the Army National Guard Reserves. Robert spent his leisure time fishing and hunting deer with his son and family, but most importantly loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Jim Norris. Survivors: Children, Darleta McElvany and husband, Ricky, James Parker and wife, Debbie, Barri Kline and husband, Larry, and Tracey Shutter; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Parker, Gary Parker, and Joe Parker; sisters, Ginger Norris, Faye Smethers (Ray’s twin); and many other family members and friends.
