Rowena Gaye Scherer

Rowena Gaye Scherer, 75, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at home surrounded by loved ones.Funeral Service:  2 p.m. Saturday at Willow Park Baptist Church, 129 S. Ranch House Rd., Willow Park,  76087.Interment:  East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford.Visitation:  6 - 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford,  76086.Gaye was born May 16, 1942 in Weatherford, the only child of Roland L. and Hester Ellis Scherer.  She graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Education and taught First and Second grades.  Gaye will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  She was a loyal and dedicated friend known for her straightforward honesty and humor.  Gaye was passionate about travel, flowers, animals and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents.Survivors:  daughter, Michele Napier and husband, Jeff; twin sons, Brad McDavid and wife, Liza, and Bill McDavid and wife, Mikeleen; granddaughters, Autumn VanWagoningen, Elizabeth Davis, Rebecca Snider, and Rachel McDavid; grandsons, Benjamin Napier, Roland McDavid, Sam Napier, John Napier, Billy McDavid, Philip Napier, and Jarius McDavid; eleven great-grandchildren; extended family and countless friends.
