Sam Alan Merck

Sam Merck, of Azle, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the age of 64. Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at White’s Azle Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, August 21, 2020 at White’s Funeral Home. Burial: Veal Station Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Azle Lion’s Club, PO Box 211, Azle, Texas 76098, to benefit the children of Azle. Sam enjoyed playing golf, going to concerts, farming, and his varied work throughout his life as a Dairyman, Home Builder, AC Company Business Owner, and as a Project Manager for SSW Holding where he traveled across the United States and Mexico. Sam served on the Azle ISD school board for 29 years and coached many years with the Northwest YMCA. He was also a member of Silver Creek United Methodist Church for many years. Sam is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Janet; son, Bradley Merck and wife, Misty; grandson, Tucker; son, Blake Merck and wife, Danielle; brothers, Daren Merck and wife, Stephanie and David Merck; sister, Sally Cate and husband, Steve; father, Eugene Merck and wife, Linda; mother, Mary Fischer and husband, Don; sister-in-law, Dena Hall, and special niece and nephew, Maeghan Hall-Gehringer and Hunter Hall. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
