Shirley Ann Burns, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called home February 1, 2018, in Springtown, Texas. Funeral Service: Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 11:00 AM, White’s Funeral Chapel, Springtown, TX. Interment: Cottondale Cemetery Visitation: Monday, February 5, 2018, 6-8 PM, White’s Funeral Chapel, Springtown, TX. Shirley was born May 28, 1939, to Clarence Hartman and Dorothy Ann Hartmann. She married the love of her life, James Richard Burns on January 12, 1958. They were married 55 years before he passed away September 19, 2013. Together they had three beautiful daughters and began a lifetime of memories watching their family grow. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Springtown. She was a loving Christian mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Shirley retired from Springtown Elementary School where she taught kindergarten for many wonderful years. She was very active in her community. Shirley loved polka music and cooking and was known for her cinnamon rolls. Some of her favorite pastimes were researching her German heritage and listening to her favorite gospel groups. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Joe Hartman. She is survived by daughters, Susan Ingram (Mike), Debbie Burns, Tammie Bates (Les); grandchildren, Ashley Johnston (Jessey), Lindsey Fletcher (Cody); great-grandchildren, Mia, Cash, Crosby Fletcher, Emersyn and Ethan Johnston.
