Ted Wayne Hampton, 71, passed away in his home at Springtown, Texas, June 26, 2018. Visitation: The body will lie in state Thursday afternoon, June 28, 2018, at the Springtown Baptist Temple Church and visitation following at 6-8 PM. Funeral Service: Friday, June 29, 2018, at 2 PM, Springtown Baptist Temple Church Interment: Cottondale Cemetery He was born in Waxahachie, November 29, 1946, to Wade and Helen Hampton. He and his wife, Nancy, lived most of their life in Springtown, Texas. He graduated from Springtown High School in 1965. Ted and his brothers owned the Old Plantation. Ted served in the Army in the Vietnam War. When he retired from the service he worked at the National Guard. If you couldn’t find Ted, he was on the lake fishing or taking his grandchildren somewhere. Ted was an avid hunter and fisherman and had several trophy fish to show for his efforts. Ted was an active member of Springtown Temple Baptist Church. He really enjoyed the singing groups that visited the church. He also loved his grandchildren. He told Nancy he wanted to be buried by his little grandson who passed away. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, brother David, half-brother Don and grandson, Brayden Horton, brother-in-laws, Gary and Paul Blair. Ted was survived by his wife, Nancy, son, Coleman and wife, Brenda; daughter, Terri Lynn Durossette; step-son, Shawn Horton and wife, Nora; brothers, Ned and wife, Mary, Terry and wife Muarine; sisters Sue Lanier, Janice Edmunds (Don) and Vernell Chadwell (Kenneth); sister-in-law, Wanda Blair; six grandchildren and seven great-grand children; Uncle Bobby (Annette); Aunt Hazel Boaz; Aunt Falo (Van Booth) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
