Ted Vickers joined the love of his life in heaven on June 30th, 2022. As a young athlete he played on the Breckenridge Texas, football state championship team. Attended UT Arlington on a football scholarship then joined the Army. He met the love of his life (Margaret Regina Hughes Vickers) and was married. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Ted raised his 8 children and a few of his wife's siblings. He worked in and eventually started his own business in the oil field supply and pump repair business. He was a true pit master for his family-owned BBQ restaurant. He was the handyman for the family-owned motel business. He made doughnuts for the family-owned doughnut shop. He stayed busy but always took time to coach or attend his children's athletic events or life events. Many happy family vacations were taken across the country with Ted at the wheel. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a man of few words but loved to joke and play with others. He was always quietly in the background willing to do anything to help others. He was a tough oil field hand but anyone who really knew him, knew that all he ever wanted was to love his wife and family with all his heart. He would do anything in his power to make his Wife and children happy. Ted was the oldest of 2. Born on August 24, 1933, in Eliasville, Texas to proud parents Frank and Fanny Vickers. He is survived by (children) Daughter, Diane (Steve) Hancock, Son Kenny (Rosie) Vickers, Daughter Cathy (Rick) Carroll, Daughter Debbie Wood, Son Stephen (Shawnerie) Vickers, 16 Grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Father Frank Vickers, Mother Fanny Vickers, Son Timothy Vickers, Daughter Lesa Renea Vickers, Son Teddy Ray Jr. Vickers, Sister Franky (Ed) Hull. His wishes were to have a celebration of life services in Weatherford Texas. Ted and Jean knew that even death would not keep them apart for long. They departed this world only a few months apart. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's children Hospital.
