Thelma Louise Troy

Thelma Austin Troy, 91, passed from this life on Saturday, December 7, 2019. A private memorial will be held graveside on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Memorials may be made to the Joan Barber Scholarship Fund, c/o Weatherford College, 225 College Park Dr., Weatherford, Texas  76086, or to one’s favorite charity.Thelma was born in Millsap on April 29, 1928 to parents, Fidelle Strain Austin and Otto Lorenzo Austin. Her life between the dashes was filled with adventure, sacrifice, spunk, love, and laughter. She lived humbly and loved loudly. She considered her greatest triumph to be her family, and the loss of her is immeasurable to those left behind. We eagerly anticipate the joyous family reunion with Jesus and grieve with the hope for that blessed day. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Truett Evans Troy; her parents; two brothers, Coy and Kenneth; sister, Dorothy; and grandson, Adam Troy. She is survived by son, Martin Troy (Martha); daughters, Vicky Slavik (Jim), Rayleen Poteet (Steve), Malynn Weaver (Tim); 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many, many dear friends.
