Thomas Edison Stovall, age 92, went peacefully home to be with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Tommy, as he preferred to be called, was born October 27, 1925, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Philip Harding and Helen Crosby Stovall, who preceded him in death.After serving in the Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific, Tommy came home to Fort Worth where he met and married his wife of 71 years, Marian Sweet Stovall. The Stovalls moved to Parker County in 1958, settling in what is now part of Willow Park.Tommy was an experienced auto mechanic by trade, having trained with his father. He was a member of the VFW of Weatherford and The Weatherford Art Association for many years. As well as being an accomplished water-color artist, he was an airplane pilot and camping enthusiast who enjoyed traveling.He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church of Hudson Oaks, Texas, where he served faithfully as a deacon for sixty years.Tommy is survived by his wife Marian and two sons, Thomas Randal Stovall of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Phillip Martin Stovall of Fort Worth, Texas, as well as other family, friends, and church family.A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the pavilion at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy, west of Weatherford, Dr. Andy Johnson officiating. White’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
