Timothy Wayne Rushing, 61, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020. No service is planned at this time. Timothy was born in Vernon to Leman and Wanda Rushing June 9, 1959.. He was a United States Army veteran and honorably served from 1980-1992, stationed in Fort Bragg, NC, Fort Sill, OK, Fort Jackson, SC and he was also stationed in Germany several times: Mainz, Heilbronn, and Mannheim. Timothy was sent to several conflicts: Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada in 1983, Operation Just Cause in Panama 1989/1990 and and the Gulf War (Desert Shield and Desert Storm) in 1991 His eldest daughter, Ann-Christine, has a memory of her Dad always taking the scenic route and she loved that and is now doing that herself. Son, Christopher remembers fondly how his Dad used to let him help barbecue. And his youngest daughter said, she liked when Dad took her fishing and he taught her to fix things. Timothy loved to travel, go fishing, country music, loved working with his hands and made benches from headboards, semi-truck looking birdhouses and birdfeeders. He got to cross off a very big item on his bucket list, going back to Germany to visit. In 2017 after 25 years we went back to visit family and some friends. Timothy never ate so many Schnitzels in such a short time, cheesecakes and German beers. It was a wonderful trip. The hardware and home improvement stores were his "candystores", there was always a tool he needed. He would always drop what he was doing to help out his kids (get on a plane or on a bus to go to the rescue), his siblings), and his neighbors. Timothy was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Loyd. Survivors: wife, Martina Rushing; children: daughters, Ann-Christine of Grapevine, Angelica of Weatherford; son: Christopher and wife, Catherine of Fort Worth; grandchildren: Levi, Gigi, and Felix; siblings, Cheryl, Rhonda, Vergil, Loretta, Dorothy, Eddie, and many, many nieces, and nephews. He is leaving behind a really big void. We miss him so very much.
