He was the seventh of ten children. Prior to his retirement from the United States Postal Service in 1998, Del held a variety of jobs that would write the story of his life. He went from a young boy picking cotton in rural Louisiana to realizing one of his dreams, owning a restaurant, "Del's Lakeside Inn" at Possum Kingdom Lake. Somewhere in between, he began his career in Civil Service, working at Southern Airways, General Dynamics, and USPS. He spent several years in Isfahan, Iran, working for Bell Helicopter, which gave opportunity to worldwide travel. His goal in life was to give his family a kaleidoscope of experiences, and that he did. In addition to being goal driven with a strong work ethic, he believed in giving back to his community. Throughout his life, he was a member of the Jaycees, Lions Club, and Masons. He was a Master Mason who also served Masonic Lodge 611 as a Worshipful Master. In his later years, he found great satisfaction working alongside his wife, helping out the local election polling center. A life well-lived, he is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind. Survivors: His devoted wife of 56 years, Barbara; daughters, Rebecca Borski (David) and Kay Cason (Eric); grandchildren, Christina Walker (Cody), Thomas Borski (Jenni), Tanner Cason, and Tara Cason; two great-grandchildren, Nova Borski and Benjamin Walker; sisters, Bernice Barton and Delores Brown; brother, Donald Ray Del Rio; and many loved nieces and nephews.Del's family would like to thank our many family, friends, and Del's poker buddies, who have been a great source of support for our family, and Alpha Omega Hospice for your compassionate care of our beloved husband, daddy, and papa.
