Vernon Gale Goodrich, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Service: 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 20, 2019 at The First United Methodist Church of Azle. Entombment: Azleland Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at White’s Azle Funeral Home Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church of Azle. Vernon was born June 27, 1935 in Knox City to Walter and Beatrice Goodrich. He attended Azle schools graduating in 1954. Married the love of his life Glenda in 1956 at the Methodist Church in Boyd. Vernon served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in the 36th Artillery & Missile core in communication and served in the 300th Aviation in Fort Worth from 1960 to 1962. He had been employed with Leonard’s and Stripling Department stores, General Dynamics and American Life and Accident Insurance Co. State Reserve Insurance Company. Also worked at Silver Creek Elementary School. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Glenda Goodrich; daughter, Debbie Leatherwood and husband, Glen; son, Rick Goodrich and wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Lennie Loeffelholz and husband, Erik, Michael Goodrich and wife, Sabine, Lynnette Hicks and husband, Teddy, Ginny Leatherwood and fiancée, Davis George; great-grandchildren, Carter Loeffelholz, Preston Loeffelholz, Pierce Loefffelholz, Ian Loeffelholz, , Hanna Goodrich, Lauren Goodrich, Evan Goodrich, Walker George, Baily Hicks and Teddy Hicks, III.
