Weatherford - William Lloyd Burton passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 in Weatherford, Texas.Funeral:  9:00 a.m., Friday at First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Burial: 1:00 p.m., Monday in Elmhurst Cemetery, Guymon, Oklahoma.Memorials:  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Brock High School baseball fund or library fund.Lloyd was born October 15, 1938 to Helen Burton and the late William Lloyd, Sr. He grew up in Guymon, Oklahoma., as part of the family of Helen and the best "second" father, Emmit Hughey.He graduated from high school in Guymon, Oklahoma and went on to Panhandle State University, graduating in 1960 with a degree in English education.Lloyd began teaching in Campo, Colorado where he met Ruth Lewis. They were married two years later. From Colorado, they went on to over 40 years in education working with students in Oklahoma and Kansas before making their way to Brock High School in 1975. A love of sports has kept them involved with Brock, Home of the Champions.Lloyd is survived by wife, Ruth; daughter, Harriet Bohanan; son, Chad Burton; grandchildren, Zac, Kyle, and Alex Bohanan; and several nieces, nephews, and their families.
