Scott Collins

William Scott Collins, 75, of Mineral Wells, TX, passed April 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born January 23, 1950, in Breckenridge, TX to W.C. “Buddy” and Elizabeth Collins. They shortly, thereafter, moved to Mineral Wells, where he called home for the rest of his life. Scott was enlisted in the Army in 1969 through 1971, where he served in Vietnam. He returned to Mineral Wells and ended up working for Century Flight Systems for about 44 years.

He had 2 beautiful daughters, Denise Anne in 1975 and Jaime Lynn in 1977. He met the love of his life, Debbie and they married August 1, 1980, where he gained another beautiful daughter Dena Lyndel and a wonderful son Jesse Murel. He was always a loving Husband, Dad and Papa, as his grandchildren called him, and he will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his sister, Betty Carol Mellem and two great-grandchildren, Hayden Odell Davis and Weston Jack Barcklay.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Debbie, his children: Dena McDowell and husband Bo, Denise Mendoza and husband Jovan, Jaime McDougal and husband Shawn, Jesse Davis and wife Perla. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Victoria Davis and husband Jason, Bryan Glover, Tyrel McDowell and wife Kyndall, Darrian Boyd and husband Colton, Lexus Wilsher, Anaiz Pederson and husband Gunner, Michaela Garcia and husband Christian, Enrique Ramos and wife Shea, Aiden Mendoza, Gaige McDougal and wife Brei, Garrett McDougal, Gracyn McDougal, Veronyka Acosta and husband Caleb, Tanner Davis and wife Makayla, Taylor Davis, Lizette Alton and Jacob and Alexandra Chavira; and several great-grandchildren.

Scott Collins will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family and friends.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells. Followed by a Graveside Ceremony, at Woodland Park Cemetery.
