William “David” Dunaway, 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018. Service: 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Azle. Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery. David Dunaway was born December 14, 1939 in Fort Worth to Jordan and Alta Dunaway. He was a lifelong resident of Azle. David was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Azle as was his father and grandmother. He attended Azle schools 1st thru 12th grades graduating with the Azle High School class of 1958.Over the years David overcame many medical problems, the worst of which was Polio. The March of Dimes took care of all his expenses. When he achieved financial security he started paying it forward, starting with The March of Dimes. He added CCC of Azle, Tarrant Food Bank, Harris Hospital downtown, The Cancer Society and The Salvation Army. If he knew someone in need of a little financial support he was happy to help. David could be opinionated, outspoken, irritating, kind and generous all rolled in to one.We are sad for you to go, but we know you must. Happy Trails. David was preceded in death by his parents; and stepmother, Alma Dunaway. Survivors: Wife, Genelle Dunaway; daughters, Kim Dunaway and husband, Rick Stepp and Deann Dunaway; son, Keith Dunaway; granddaughter, Erin Stepp; sisters, Joyce Elrod and husband, Donald and Nancy Wrinkle and husband, Tuffy; brother, Steve Dunaway and wife, Julia; four nieces and one nephew.
