William Loyd Lynch passed away February 11, 2019. Memorial services will be held at White’s Funeral Home in Springtown, Texas on February 13, 2019, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Springtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Loyd requested donations to made the First United Methodist Church of Springtown, Texas. William “Loyd” Lynch was born February 6, 1934 to Lonnie Loyd Lynch and Jessie Marie Hokett in Springtown, Texas. He grew up in Springtown, Texas where he graduated from Springtown High School in 1951. In 1954, Loyd married his wife of 65 years Linda Hutcheson Lynch, and together they raised three children: Sherri Lynch Harrison, Charles Lynch and Perry Lynch. Loyd attended Texas A&M University, Weatherford College, Texas Tech University before graduating from Texas Christian University. Loyd had an early career as a draftsman and later a mechanical engineer at General Dynamics. His career allowed his family to live in South Dakota and Seattle, Washington. Loyd completed his career as an engineer at Bell Helicopter in Fort Worth, Texas. He received several nominations for the North American Engineering Award during his time at Bell Helicopter. His highest accomplishment in his career was his work and development of a process called stereolithography. Loyd also designed many homes, buildings, and structures in Springtown, including the renovation of the First United Methodist Church in Springtown, Texas. Loyd was also a member of the Springtown Masonic Lodge and received his 50-year membership pin in 2016. Loyd loved projects in the “barn” and working on the family farm. He had numerous interests’ and hobbies from raising Quarter Horses, cattle, and bee keeping to snow skiing, photography, and bread making. Loyd and Linda loved to travel in their motorhome, cruising all over the United States and Canada with his brother Gary Lynch and wife Carolyn of Weatherford, Texas and Linda’s sister Frances and her husband Lloyd Sisk of Springtown, Texas. Loyd and Linda traveled extensively, including destinations like Alaska, Caribbean and South America’s Panama Canal. Loyd loved spending time on “the Boat” on Lake Texoma and taking photography trips in the Colorado mountains. Loyd was a season ticket holder for TCU football over 20 years where he enjoyed tailgating with friends and family at every home game. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, William Lonnie Lynch and Jessie Marie Hokett of Springtown, Texas. Survivors include his wife Linda Hutcheson Lynch and his three children and five grandchildren; daughter, Sherri Lynch Harrison and son-in-law, James Harrison of Ferris, Texas; son, Charles Lynch and daughter-in-law Cindy Lynch of Weatherford Texas, and son, Perry Lynch and daughter-in-law, Shawna Gibbs Lynch of Keller, Texas. Poppy’s grandchildren include: Trishia Harrison, Allie Harrison, Erin Lynch Burks, Ryan Lynch, and Jarod Lynch; and a brother Gary Lynch of Weatherford, Texas.
