On Thursday, August 1, 2019, Johnny Ford McCormick, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away in his home at the age of 72. Please join us in the celebration of his life at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Family Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2019.Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday August 6, 2019Johnny was born May 7, 1947 in Dallas. His parents, John and Marie Wells-McCormick have preceded him. He attended high school at R.L. Turner in Carrollton, and earned his college degree at East Texas State University. Johnny is remembered most for his love of Possum Kingdom (PK) and the great outdoors. On his days off he would either be quietly perched high in a cedar tree with his bow and arrow trying to outwit a whitetail buck or you would find him on the lake chasing any fish that would bite a hook! We will all miss his quiet wisdom, humorous wit, smiling blue eyes and infectious need to laugh. The family expresses their appreciation to Paula Bell, his full-time caregiver prior to his passing.Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Gayle English-McCormick whom he married 50 years ago on April 7, 1969. Johnny and Lynda have three children, son, Jason Ford McCormick-his wife, Scarlett Marie Gillespie-McCormick, son, Jeremy Ford McCormick-his wife, Andrea Michelle Smyers-McCormick, and daughter, Julie Marie McCormick-Vaughan-her husband, John Edward (Jedd) Vaughan. Johnny and Lynda have eight grandchildren, Cody-wife Lauren, Nick, Vivian, Nicole, Jayton, Hannah, Jack and Hinslie.
