Robert Mason (RM) Gunn, Jr, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 19, 2021, surrounded by his three daughters and family. Visitation: Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M. at White’s Funeral Home. Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 25, 2021 at White’s Funeral Home, Azle. Interment: 9:15 A.M. Monday, November 1, 2021 at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the “Deer Friends” of RM Gunn Memorial Link: https://gofund.me/095do5be RM was born April 21, 1934 in Sherwood, Texas to Robert Mason Gunn Sr. and Olga Louise Gunn. He moved to Azle in 1942 where he attended and graduated from Azle High School in 1953 and joined the Air Force, serving 8 years. He later joined the Naval Reserve where he retired after serving 10 years and retired from Bell Helicopter after 35 years. He was a dedicated member of Castle Hills Baptist Church for over 60 years. RM was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Mamie Gunn; son, Randolph Mason Gunn; father, Robert Gunn, Sr.; mother, Olga Louise Myers Gunn – Springfield; stepfather, RB Springfield Survivors: Daughters, Enola Heard, Cindy Rose and husband, Wesley, Melissa Hays and husband, Brad; grandchildren, Christopher Freeman, Lacey Robertus, David Admire, Jeffrey Admire, Lauren Balonis, Jordan Taylor, Alexis Moss, Mason Hays; and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Madeline Teague and Barbara Jones. RM’s children wish to share their deep gratitude to Dr. Morrison, Kindred Hospice and the wonderful nurses, aides and staff at Azle Manor. They cared for him beautifully with skill, love and humor.
